Planning matters
You are what you choose, your actions, reactions, and your destiny is just what you choose. So, make good choice because choice matters very much. That is exactly the essence of my article about planning addressed to the small business owners; as when we talk about planning we actually talk about how to choose the right choice from certain given alternatives in order to make a correct decision, in short; it‘s all about decision making, nobody would conclude a good decision without thoughtful thinking and that is what we call planning. That planning ahead of actions could be applied on various scales social, business, or whatever; it is just a key factor for success, and I am here talking about business. . In my practical life I saw people who plan and others who don’t. The ones who plan can easily achieve targets or envision the surrounding situation to be reliable at times of crisis or hardship on the other hand, those who don’t plan are very weak and mostly they end up with business failure however, if they gave themselves a chance to plan ahead of their actions they would have accomplished something worthwhile. The business history is full of brilliant examples but let’s remember that American business owner who faced the financial crisis by planning that instead of firing most of the workers he called them for a meeting and discussed the matter with them asking them to all sacrifice temporarily rather than partially sacrifice permanently so they were taking unpaid vacations by turns instead of firing anyone until the company overcome that crisis.
So could you imagine what would be the result if he did not plan for passing that situation? And that is only one situation which may pass by through the business life of any firm. The need for planning would be dramatically important when it comes to launching a new business. You are the only one responsible for your vulnerability if you didn’t spend enough time for planning such case could be there when you open a business while you lack funding , experience or tools, that indicates a bad or lack of planning and the result will most likely be negative. Even for those who have up and running businesses and want to expand they will not achieve a business bonanza without planning their strategy in details.
-What if the plan fails? There should be plan B and Plan C and so on.
-Who is responsible for planning? It is the responsibility of the decision makers in your organization they could be the general managers, or board of directors, department managers, marketing managers, HR managers or business development managers.
So, vulnerability or strength of your business is your own choice as it depends on how far you spend your time in planning.
